EuroAirport starts off its SFR WiFi service with a free test period until 30 April 2004

As of today, 8 April 2004, the EuroAirport SFR WiFi service allowing wireless broadband Internet access will be available with wide coverage in the Terminal buildings of the EuroAirport, including all boarding areas in both French and Swiss sectors, the bars and restaurants in the finger dock and on levels 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The SFR WiFi service at EuroAirport starts off with a free test period of 3 weeks. This means that up to 30 April 2004, passengers using EuroAirport can benefit from free-of-charge SFR WiFi session cards allowing 20 minutes WiFi access in all WiFi-covered zones of the airport. These free cards can be obtained at the Information Desk in the Terminal building (level 2, Arrivals) in both French and Swiss sectors (one card per person per day as long as stocks last).

Using the SFR WiFi service at EuroAirport, passengers can consult their e-mails, surf on Internet and/or access company-specific information and applications (if supported by their company’s network). Passengers can thus enjoy all the advantages of a wireless broadband Internet connection from their laptop or WiFi-compatible personal assistant. Passengers will also be able to access free of charge a wide variety of EuroAirport services on www.euroairport.com, optimizing preparation of their journey and obtaining information, e.g. on flight times, car parks, airlines, tour operators and car hire companies at EuroAirport.

Opening up the EuroAirport hotspot in collaboration with SFR is completely in line with EuroAirport’s strategy which aims to meet the needs of its customers seeking a high degree of mobility. With the SFG WiFi service at EuroAirport, passengers can maximize the use of their waiting time in the airport.

As of 1 May, 2004, session cards for 20 minutes, one hour or one day will be available for sale at EuroAirport, marking the official launch of the WiFi service. WiFi demonstrations will take place in both the French and Swiss sectors of the Terminal building and users will be able to obtain advice from SFR WiFi representatives.

The EuroAirport WiFi service is operated by SFR, a company specialized in mobile phone services and data transmission for private individuals, business people and companies.
