EuroAirport grants further concession of land in south zone for new development.

The newly founded company AMAC Aerospace Switzerland AG, specialized in aircraft maintenance and outfitting for business and private aviation, has acquired a 35-year concession for 45,000 m2 of land at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg to build three hangars with integrated workshops and offices in the new south zone. The airport infrastructure will be developed in parallel by EuroAirport.

EuroAirport welcomes the new development project in the south zone, which will generate additional jobs. Furthermore, it contributes to establishing EuroAirport’s standing as a competence centre for the refurbishment of large aircraft.

“We chose EuroAirport as the location for our start-up company because EuroAirport and the French authorities responsible constructively support our project and because we have an infrastructure here that is tailored to our needs. With our activities, we want to contribute to the further development of this air base, which is so important for the region. That’s why we have committed ourselves to a 35-year contract,” says Heinz Köhli, CEO of AMAC Aerospace Switzerland AG.

About AMAC Aerospace Switzerland AG :

AMAC was founded in mid-2007 with the objective of providing high-quality services for aircraft maintenance, outfitting and refurbishment in the rapidly growing market for business and private aviation. This new market player was brought into being by a skilled management team with many years of international experience in maintaining and outfitting business aircraft. Based on a long-term strategy of sustained growth, AMAC Aerospace has specific plans to develop and expand. This approach is also reflected in the contractual commitment for a 35-year concession of land at EuroAirport. When the development and extension work is complete, the company plans to begin operations at Basel-Mulhouse airport in autumn 2008.
